Welcome to Introduction to Teaching with Canvas!

This self-paced course was originally developed by the @ONE Project, which provides training and online resources for California Community College faculty and staff, in conjunction with the Online Education Initiative. It has been adapted for Las Positas College. The course is presented in four modules (learning units) that contain all of the content for the topic. You will be able to navigate through the modules freely; however, we recommend you proceed through the content linearly as presented for the most beneficial learning journey.

When you set up your own web-enhanced course, think about what you want to include in Canvas and how this enhances your face-to-face instruction and helps your students meet their learning outcomes. Some instructors post their syllabi and other documents, such as lecture notes, handouts, and reference materials. Some instructors just post links to helpful websites. Some just use the gradebook. Many instructors post all of the above...and more. It's up to you!
